چکیده
The present study reports the oviposition behavior of ant parasitoid wasp, Ghilaromma orientalis , on an undescribed species from Lasius fuliginosus group in Japan, illustrated by clear photographs. Previously, subfamily Hybrizontinae had been limited to hovering trail and attacking larvae carried worker ants. In contrast, G. whose not reported date, wasp hung grass growing along ants’ its hind legs with head down, when workers pass by, directed abdomen toward remaining grass. Our findings suggest that employs two host-searching strategies—an active strategy previously known ambush-type employed . affords advantage laying eggs a narrow environment where wasps cannot fly without being noticed Moreover, avoiding detection through ambush tactics, are increasing their chance for attack, as ants continue transport larvae. However, search range is reduced, which may limit opportunities parasitization. Additionally, while nipponensis has observed sole host now L. group, suggesting have subgenus-specific range.

a survey was conducted to study the fauna of the subfamily ophioninae (hymenoptera: ichneumonidae) in southern iranian provinces of fars and hormozgan. the specimens were collected using malaise traps, light traps and sweep nets from a variety different habitats between 2011 and 2013. a total of twelve species of three genera (enicospilus stephens; ophion fabricius and eremotylus forster) were ...
متن کاملA review of the subfamily Acaenitinae Förster, 1869 (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae) from Ukrainian Carpathians
Ichneumonid wasps of the subfamily Acaenitinae Förster, 1869 are reviewed for the first time from the Ukrainian Carpathians. Two species, Coleocentrusexareolatus Kriechbaumer, 1894 and Coleocentrusheteropus Thomson, 1894 are new records for Ukraine. Arotesannulicornis Kriechbaumer, 1894 is considered to be a junior synonym of Arotesalbicinctus Gravenhorst, 1829 (syn. nov.). A key to species of ...

Current understanding of Cuban ichneumonids (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonoidea) is analysed. A new Subfamily (Tersilochinae) including 13 genera and two species are first reports for Cuba. In contrast with Braconidae, the sister group, the ichneumonids are poorly known because of the lack of local taxonomists and bacause nets, rather than interception, light and yellow pan traps have been used. Using...
متن کاملComparison of Diadegma insulare (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) and Microplitis plutellae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) as biological control agents of Plutella xylostella (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae): field parasitism, insecticide susceptibility, and host-searching.
Parasitism of Plutella xylostella (L.) third and fourth instars was evaluated in a cabbage field in Geneva, NY, in 1999. Over the entire season, average parasitism was 33.6% for third instars and 53.6% for fourth instars, and the main parasitoids were Diadegma insulare (Cresson) and Microplitis plutellae Muesbeck. In the early season, total parasitism was low, and mainly caused by D. insulare. ...
